ADAPT is freely available for CA CC instructors thanks to significant funding we received from the State to develop it. The Forge has not benefited from similar funding so we have priced it for sustainability, not profit. It's $15/per student, for six months of access, no matter how many courses they're using it in. As with ADAPT, we hope campuses will assume the cost so it remains free for students.
As a reminder, we are not making a profit, but we need to recoop costs to maintain the system. Otherwise, it would be free to all.
As for #2, The Forge will be equipped with that feature by the end of Feb and perhaps early Feb depending on a few issues. It is high on our development list. I use Forge for my lab reports in my chemistry class and sometimes there is a need to allow each member of a team to have editing rights.
We do have peer review capabilities though. That may be of interest to you.
