Welcome to the LibreTexts Connections Forum, the central hub where the OER community comes to life. This space is designed specifically for faculty, librarians, and educational staff to share their experiences, ask technical questions, and collaborate on the future of open education. Whether you are a seasoned OER author or just beginning your journey, this forum is your home for support and professional connection.
Getting Started as a New Contributor
To ensure our community remains a productive and professional environment, please keep these core principles from our Community Guidelines in mind:
- For Instructors, By Instructors: While the forum is publicly readable, only verified instructor accounts can post or reply. This keeps our discussions focused on pedagogy, curriculum development, and technical implementation.
- Privacy Matters: You can engage in the way that makes you most comfortable. Use theMembers Only tag to restrict visibility to logged-in instructors, or choose "Post Anonymously" when writing your reply if you want to share a success story or challenge without attaching your name.
- Self-Service First: Before posting a technical "how-to," check our Construction Guide, Support Insights, and of course search this forum! If you still need help or want clarification, find the area that most closely matches your question (ADAPT or Forge, for instance) and post there along with theSupport tag! (you can have more than one tag!)
- Be Kind & Constructive: We are a collaborative ecosystem. Focus on adding value to the conversation, stay professional, and use the "Like" button to show agreement rather than posting one-word replies.
Represent Your Field, Library, and/or Tools!
See those cool little icons next to other people's pictures? Get one for yourself by joining one of the Content Groups and User Groups below! If you're interested in a group tag for your own team, check out the Academy Services and LibreNet Consortium for contacts with our team to discuss partnerships!
The following are examples of publicly-joinable teams, but you may see group indicators for other private groups or moderators, such as @LibreTexts Team who are here to help you. Want to join one of those or are curious? You can post publicly, here, or make a private message with @LibreTexts .

Note: We may send out group messages, so be sure to join as few groups as possible to avoid overload of messages!
Update your Profile and Bio!
Once you are logged in, your name appears in the upper-right corner. Click that and go to your Profile to update what can be seen by others to let them know what courses you teach, what your favorite pedagogy type is, or what project you're working on! You can hover over the name of the posting person @Justin Shorb below or visit his profile to see an example. A nice picture always helps to engage others, even a cartoon avatar or a picture of your favorite subject matter can be great!
Pro Tip: Make Your Voice Heard
When you start a new discussion, give it a clear, descriptive title and use the appropriate library or tool tag (likeADAPT orRemixing). This ensures your post reaches the right experts and helps us keep the forum organized for everyone. Please, do not let fear of not tagging things correctly keep you from posting - our moderators will re-tag things as necessary to give your discussion the broadest audience as possible if needed! When in doubt, just use theGeneral tag!
